The driest January was in 2000 when only 13.4mm of rain fell, followed by 1987 (14.3mm) and 2006 (15.2mm).

2007 had the highest average temperature for January (10.1°C), followed by 2008 (9.7°C) and 1983 (9.6°C).

The coldest January was in 1963, with an average maximum temperature of 0.3°C, followed by 1987 (3.1°C) and 1979 (3.1°C).

The overall average maximum temperature for January is 6.9°C.
