The driest October was in 1978 when only 7.8mm of rain fell, followed by 1969 (8.4mm) and 1962 (9.7mm).

1995 had the highest average temperature for October (16.6°C), followed by 2001 (16.6°C) and 1969 (16.5°C).

The coldest October was in 1974, with an average maximum temperature of 10.7°C, followed by 1992 (10.8°C) and 1993 (11.5°C).

The overall average maximum temperature for October is 14.2°C.
